Overview

Rocky Mountain Cancer Centers, Colorado's largest and most comprehensive provider of cancer care has an exciting opportunity for a front office float at our Penrose location.

We realize that it sounds cliche but it is true - taking care of cancer patients is a calling. It's much more than a job. Each of us has a unique story that brought us to Rocky Mountain Cancer Centers (RMCC), but those stories usually share common themes of care, compassion, and commitment.

No matter the role each RMCC team member serves in, the goal is the same: to provide the best care possible for each and every one of our patients. Whether we are a nurse holding our patient's hand, or a scheduler on the phone finding an appointment that fits into a patient's schedule, we are deeply connected to our patients and do what we can to help.

Salary Range: $17.00-$23.00

Responsibilities

Provide coverage for all front office roles to include:

  • Front Desk
    • Greet patients and visitors, acting as a support and resource during their time in the front office
    • Obtain appropriate forms and audit for completeness
    • Update demographic information, ensure proper referrals are in place
    • Work with the Patient Financial Counselor to collect copays, deductibles, and other out of pocket fees at time of visit
  • Operator
    • Answer and route all incoming calls
    • Sort and distribute incoming mail and faxes
  • Outside Scheduling
  • New Patient Scheduling
  • Scheduler
    • Screen potential new patients and collect and process all necessary records and documentation prior to scheduling appointments
    • Schedule new patient and established patient visits in accordance with physician and/or office guidelines
    • Schedule outpatient appointments/testing and surgeries
  • Insurance Authorization/PFC
    • Obtain authorizations for all drugs, IV infusions, etc.

For all coverage positions, this individual will:

  • Demonstrate an understanding of patient confidentiality to protect the patient and clinic/corporation
  • Follow policies and procedures to contribute to the efficiency of the front office

Other duties as may be assigned based on the role


Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma or equivalent required. Minimum five years of medical business office experience with insurance procedures and patient interaction.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Work may require sitting for long periods of time; also stooping, bending and stretching for files and supplies. Occasionally lifting files or paper weighing up to 30 pounds. Requires manual dexterity sufficient to operate a keyboard, calculator, telephone, copier and other office equipment. Vision must be correctable to 20/20 and hearing must be in the normal range for telephone contacts. It is necessary to view and type on computer screens for prolonged periods of time.
