Summary
Performs routine testing in a high-complexity clinical diagnostic laboratory. Responsible for receiving patient samples and preparing them for microscopic examination and analysis by Pathology. Troubleshoots on-hold cases and collaborates with the Laboratory Operations team to ensure efficient workflow. Focuses on cutting, mounting, staining, and batching slides. Able to work independently and handle more complex specimens. Does this position require Patient Care? No Essential Functions Trains new technologists on proper procedures and techniques Evaluates new technology for clinical application and assists in updating procedure manuals for inspections and accreditations Receives and accounts for all blocks, resolving any issues related to blocks and slides Ensures timely and accurate work in assigned areas such as histology, special stains, neuropathology, frozen sections, and immunohistochemistry Determines when to modify techniques or equipment to meet quality standards Maintains quality control logs and ensures daily completion Oversees quality control for all reagents Education Physical Requirements
