Make your mark at the world's largest HVAC company Daikin Applied is hiring an Engineering Technician II and Engineering Technician III to join our growing test lab on 1st and 2nd shift. As an Engineering Technician, you will work in support of HVAC development programs, technician installs, tests, calibrates, and repairs electromechanical, and electronic measuring. This exciting role will also support aspects of recording and indicating instruments and equipment for conformance to established standards. Location: Plymouth, MN - In-person Shift hours: 1^st shift: 6:00AM - 2:30PM M-F 2^nd shift: 2:00PM - 12:30AM M-Th What you will do: Perform laboratory testing activities in accordance with standard procedures, test requirements, and the ISO 17025 standard Perform scheduled instrument verification checks and periodic facility maintenance Set up and operate complex laboratory equipment and instruments Identify and report nonconformities and abnormal testing conditions Ensure standards, policies, procedures, and maintenance of a clean work area are upheld at all times Maintain a working knowledge of EH&S safety policies and regulations to ensure duties of self and others are performed in a safe manner Maintain effective communication with laboratory and project teams Obtain fork truck training/license, scissor lift training/license, or refrigerant handling certifications Perform test unit setup according to lab procedures and test request requirements Create records of testing activities and document them according to laboratory procedures Improve laboratory activities on a continuous basis Implement corrective and preventative actions Analyze, troubleshoot, and repair test units and facilities What's in it for you: Medical/Dental/Vision coverage, PTO, 401K match, support for community involvement and much more The ability to make an impact and shape your career with a company that is passionate about growth The support of an organization that believes it is vital to include and engage diverse people, perspectives, and ideas to achieve our best Minimum Qualifications: Two-year technical degree in HVAC or a related field 2+ years of related experience with residential or commercial HVAC Proven success troubleshooting complex issues Experience with MS Office programs including Excel (or similar) Work visa sponsorship is not available for this position Preferred Qualifications: 4-6+ years of related experience with commercial HVAC or a combination of Residential and Commercial HVAC Fork truck training/license Man lift training/license Universal card Benefits: Daikin Applied offers the following benefits for this position, subject to applicable eligibility requirements Multiple Medical insurance plan options + Dental and Vision insurance 401K retirement plan with employer contributions matching 100% of the first 3% an employee contributes and 50% on the next 2% of employee contributions Company provided life insurance + optional employee paid voluntary life insurance, dependent life coverage and voluntary accident coverage Short term and long-term disability 120 hours (3 weeks) Paid Time Off for new employees + 11 company paid holidays 40 hours (1 week) Sick Time The typical hourly pay rate for the position ranges from $25.63- $41.25 in Minnesota. The range displayed represents the pay range for all positions in the job grade which this position(s) fall. Individual hourly pay rate will depend on a wide range of factors including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
