About the Role
Serves as flow leader for material handling team that issues and delivers materials to production floor, keeps track of inventory, and ships and receives material to ensure proper flow. Ensures safe and effective movement of material within a shipping center, warehouse or storage facility.

Delivery:
- Directs the organizations purchasing and inventory management of raw material receipts, material flow, and distribution of finished goods.
- Provides support to production scheduling on all material flow issues to meet production schedules and customer requirements.
- Plan and coordinate physical movement of materials, parts, finished goods, and information to ensure optimization of cost and service level.
- Establishes and implements processes to ensure the timely disposition of obsolete and excess materials
- Train shipping department personnel in roles or responsibilities regarding global logistics strategies.
- Monitor key materials performance metrics such as cycle count, inventory turns, and safety stock.
- Communicate freight transportation information to customers or suppliers, using transportation management, electronic logistics marketplace, or electronic freight information systems, to improve efficiency, speed, or quality of transportation services.
- Resolve problems concerning transportation, logistics systems, imports or exports, or customer issues.
- Issues and delivers correct materials to production floor, keeps track of inventory, and ships and receives material to ensure proper flow.
- Receive and verify the quality and quantity of shipments of incoming materials.
- Build packaging, pack, check product quality, weigh, organize and verify paperwork of shipments.
- Loads and unloads material within a warehouse or storage facility.
- Utilizes hand trucks, forklifts, hoists, or other handling equipment to move material to and from locations and transportation vehicles within the facility.
- Delivers continuous improvement through participation in lean kaizen events
- Navigates software platforms used for shipping and receiving
- Problem solving expertise to improve inventory cycle count and replenishment systems
Business Partner:
- Develops strong relationships and provides effective communication, prioritization, and alignment across value streams, sites, business units, and functions
- Demonstrates capability for engaging with external business partners to provide seamless linkage of supply chain processes
- Follow-up as required with all teams to expedite flow of materials and documents to meet production schedule and customer expectation
- Scheduling, Planning, Trade Compliance, Customer Service, Manufacturing, Material team linkage
Center of Expertise (COE):
- Demonstrates capabilities in material management, MRP, pull systems, flow, and the implementation of lean concepts
- High attention to detail, follow up and attention to customer service.
- Demonstrates continuous improvement of material flow systems
- Excellent customer service, interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
- Proficient in Excel and other Microsoft Office tools
- Excellent negotiation and problem-solving skills. Possess exceptional conflict resolution skills and is adept at dealing with situations involving conflict.
Required Qualifications
- High-school graduate/GED preferred
- Preferred Two-year degree or Technical Certificate or related experience (3-5 years)
