Position Summary

Experienced Senior Accounts Payable professional with a proven ability to lead high-volume invoice operations. Skilled in OpenInvoice, Enertia, OpenTicket, and PriceBook management, with a strong focus on process innovation, compliance, and analytics-driven decision-making. Recognized for improving operational efficiency, fostering team development, and building effective partnerships across departments.

This position is in downtown Houston, TX and will report to the Accounts Payable and Cash Disbursements Supervisor. Hybrid work schedule is an option for remote work on Mondays and Fridays. Level and salary commensurate with background and experience.

Essential Job Functions

  • Assist in daily AP operations, processing a high volume of invoices through OpenInvoice (including use of OpenTicket and PriceBook) and Enertia, ensuring compliance with policies and deadlines.
  • Identify and implement process automation opportunities, improving workflow efficiency and reducing manual intervention in invoice processing.
  • Assist in managing Price Book accuracy and updates, ensuring correct rates are applied to field tickets and invoices, reducing disputes and improving cost controls.
  • Collaborate with Field Operations and Corporate teams to resolve invoice coding, approval, and payment issues, acting as a key liaison for cross-departmental coordination.
  • Lead vendor setup and onboarding, ensuring accurate W-9 processing, compliance with supply chain guidelines, and maintaining strong vendor relationships.
  • Develop and present AP performance metrics and dashboards providing leadership with actionable insights for continuous improvement.
  • Review and maintain the Delegation of Authority in OpenInvoice and prepare monthly reports and analysis
  • Prepare journal entries, reconciliations, and adjustments for AP transactions, supporting accurate monthly and quarterly close processes.
  • Ensure compliance with SOX controls, regularly reviewing processes and partnering with internal audit to address potential risks.
  • Mentor and support team members, driving a culture of collaboration, innovation, and professional growth.
  • Participate in special projects, as needed

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting/related field
  • 5 years of Accounts Payable experience
  • OpenInvoice/OpenTicket or similar Accounts Payable software
  • Ability to develop strong working relationships and communicate effectively across the organization
  • Strong interpersonal, presentation, and written communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and fluid environment; flexible with the demands of the company; able to meet deadlines
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Strong MS Excel skills
  • Physical Requirements and Working Conditions: Must possess mobility to work in a standard office setting and to use standard office equipment, including a computer, stamina to maintain attention to detail despite interruptions, strength to lift and carry files weighing up to 10 pounds; vision to read printed materials and a computer screen, and hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone
