Shift:Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 4:30pm Compensation: * Base Pay Range: $75,275 - $109,554 per year, based on experience ABOUT THE JOB The Nurse Coordinator, Professional Development & Patient Education provides leadership for strategic planning related to patient education and nursing development across the healthcare continuum. Develops staff competence in both patient education and professional practice. Designs and maintains comprehensive models for excellence in patient education and nursing development, ensuring materials and methods meet all health literacy, regulatory, and professional standards. Coordinates the development or acquisition of evidence-based education materials for patients and staff, ensuring appropriate availability in PowerChart, myStation, or for print distribution. Collaborates with stakeholders to develop effective, efficient documentation and tracking of both patient education and nursing development initiatives. DETAILED JOB DESCRIPTION Develops and maintains a clinical model for effective patient education across the health care continuum, including a process for the development and approval of patient education materials to be maintained within PowerChart, the EMR, on the MU Health Care website, and the Patient Portal. Designs and maintains professional development programs for nursing staff, ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements, practice standards, and organizational goals. Collaborates with the Tiger Institute and Nursing Informatics Coordinators on the development and tracking of custom content in the EMR and the development of interdisciplinary methods for documentation and communication of patient education progress and nursing education milestones. Ensures patient education video content available on myStation is accurate, current, and compliant with standards. Collaborates with the Tiger Institute to improve delivery, ordering, documentation, and evaluation of video education. Develops and delivers training for unit-based patient education experts and nursing staff. Mentors unit-based staff to become leaders in patient education and advocates for clinical excellence. Analyzes data related to patient education and nursing professional development, including documentation metrics, material usage, satisfaction scores, and clinical outcomes. Facilitates evaluation, development, or purchase of patient and nursing education materials in various formats (print, video, online content). Maintains a centralized database of educational resources, including educational video guides and print materials. Maintains current knowledge of regulatory requirements impacting patient and nursing education. Maintains policies, procedures, and documentation standards accordingly. May complete unit/department-specific duties as outlined in department documents. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor of Science in Nursing or other related allied health degree. Five (5) years of progressively responsible RN experience. Missouri Board of Nursing RN or Nurse Licensure Compact multi-state RN. When primary state of residency changes, compact state RNs must apply under new state of residency within thirty (30) days. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Master's degree in a healthcare-related field. Additional license/certification requirements as determined by the hiring department.
