DETAILED JOB DESCRIPTION Act as liaison between management, health care providers, and staff to ensure communication between these groups. Instruct, advise, and monitor staff on changes in policies, procedures, or working standards in a high volume of acutely ill patients with constant patient turnover. Coordinate training and orientation of Emergency Patient Service Representatives for 24/7 staffing. Perform all aspects of unit-specific tasks to ensure all expected work and outcomes of the revenue cycle are completed. Work towards and implement changes needed to achieve departmental Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) defined by the Revenue Cycle Leadership and industry standards. Possess knowledge of level of care to assess what patient types can be transferred back to the Emergency room in acute scenarios preventing duplicate encounters and the ability to correct the system. Assist with performance monitoring and evaluations, interviewing, hiring, discipline, and termination decisions. Oversee and complete various department-specific projects. Perform supervisory functions necessary to maintain daily operations for assigned shifts. Coordinate daily workflow and production, adjusting priorities, requesting temporary help, adjusting schedules, and time off requests, as necessary for 24/7 staffing. Oversee the efficiency and operational streamlining of vendor systems used in the environment to achieve expected outcomes. Lead team to remain patient surge ready to align with the organizational incident command and emergency preparedness plan. Stay informed and current on revenue cycle regulatory guidelines, regulations, or rules. This includes but is not limited to Medicare Conditions of Participation, federal and state regulations and laws, etc. May complete unit/department specific duties and expectations as outlined in department documents. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS High school diploma or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities can be acquired. Four (4) years of revenue cycle, customer service, or clerical experience. Education may be substituted in lieu of experience. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Supervisory experience. Additional license/certification requirements as determined by the hiring department.
