Position Summary

The IT Infrastructure Lead is responsible for the administration, configuration, and continuous improvement of the organization's IT infrastructure. Analyzes the network, storage, voice, and other core components and assesses current and future needs. Relies upon extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Leads and directs the work of others. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. Reports to the Corporate Technology & Compliance Leader.

Essential Functions:
  • Provide enterprise strategic direction for HED's IT infrastructure while working with key stakeholders to establish appropriate standards and controls to maximize service levels while minimizing costs.
  • Responsible for all aspects of the voice and data network and facilities. Serves as the senior IT network leader and ensures that network standards are applicable and implemented in all regions.
  • Responsible for ensuring that the communications infrastructure is maintained to provide reliable services for all regions, including working with service providers and Telco Carriers to ensure that the network is stable and highly available.
  • Ensures that the logical and physical network is performing as required and works with internal and external service providers to repair and restore service as needed.
  • Develops strategy, road maps and works with the Corporate Technology & Compliance Leader to define budget needs and works to deliver projects on time and within the budget scope.
  • Develop maintenance schedules for network, servers and storage equipment.
  • Continually investigates and implements ways to improve the effectiveness of network services.
  • Ensures that network documentation is accurate and maintained on a timely basis.
  • Ensures tracking of related IT issues, coordinates resolution and assists in driving issues to closure.
  • Escalate high severity issues and chronic problems to appropriate management.
  • Support ad hoc IT initiatives and other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field preferred.
  • 10+ years of professional experience in IT infrastructure, networking, or system administration roles.
  • Proven experience managing network equipment (switches, firewalls, wireless), VPNs, and endpoint security systems.
  • Expertise in data protection and business continuity best practices.
  • Strong understanding of security best practices and patch management.
  • Ability to work independently and proactively in a hybrid environment.
  • Proven ability to discuss voice and data network concepts and strategies in simple, clear terms to help drive and influence decision making of business and application owners.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Clear written and verbal communication.
Physical Requirements
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to effectively communicate in writing and verbally via phone, video conferencing, and in-person.
  • Visual acuity to perform responsibilities.
