What to Expect

The successful candidate will have proven experience in all facets of automated manufacturing maintenance to support sustainable production as well as new part and/or new equipment introduction is required. The successful candidate needs to have demonstrable skills in the following areas:


What You'll Do
  • Equipment Operation Availability / % OEE improvement: System development to track current shop conditions and identification of key areas of improvement
  • Breakdown management: Understanding of short term vs long term actions and systems used to prevent repeat occurrences
  • PM / TPM development and implementation: Reference to past improvement initiatives / % improvements
  • Equipment spare parts management: Critical vs. non-critical parts determination and audit methods to ensure no risk condition
  • Training & development: Assessment of current skills sets and training action plans
  • Tesla people leaders are responsible for a variety of Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) assurance functions, including ensuring their teams' safety training is current, documenting EHS incidents, proactively correcting workplace hazards in the areas, and empowering others to continuously improve operations

What You'll Bring
  • 8+ years of experience in maintenance or equipment management or a leadership role
  • 5+ years of extensive experience with trouble-shooting and correcting industrial equipment maintenance - breakdowns and failures in Automotive Industry
  • Robotic and controls programming skills; Bonus if experience is with Fanuc or Kuka Robotics systems
  • Maintenance experience in a vehicle assembly shop on a journeyman level, experience with power electronic systems is a plus
  • Great communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Must be capable of collaborating with cross-functional teams and department leaders to address concerns and issues that affect part quality, work cell ergonomics, equipment maintenance, etc.
  • Have exceptional interpersonal, organizational, and management skills, demonstrating the ability to be an innovator and change agent
