The Industries Go-to-Market Product Marketing Director (GTM) will be instrumental in defining, developing, and executing comprehensive GTM plans that accelerate Salesforce's growth, cement our market leadership, and position Salesforce as the platform of choice for agentic AI CRM. This role is designed for a strategic thinker, focusing on tailored use cases for specific industry verticals such as Financial Services and Retail, who is eager to grow their skill set and progress towards a future Marketing senior leadership role.

Key Responsibilities

GTM Strategy Development & Ownership:

  • Define and lead the end-to-end go-to-market strategy for new and existing product lines, features, and solutions, including market segmentation, targeting, and positioning within Industry Marketing.

  • Collaborate with market research teams to synthesize competitive analysis and customer insights to identify opportunities, validate hypotheses, and inform strategic decisions.

  • Develop compelling value propositions and messaging frameworks that clearly articulate the unique benefits of Salesforce offerings to target customers.

  • Create and manage cross-functional GTM plans, coordinating activities across Product, Marketing, Sales, and Customer Success to ensure seamless execution.

Industry-Focused Market Analysis and Insights:

  • Conduct in-depth market research to identify trends, customer needs, and competitive landscapes across different industries, emphasizing agentic AI applications.

  • Translate market opportunities into actionable plans that drive pipeline growth, accelerate time-to-revenue, and improve customer acquisition and retention.

Product Marketing Leadership:

  • Develop a perspective on how AI will impact prospect product research and buying behavior.

  • Design a user-centered content strategy considering the impact of AI on paid search, programmatic, and other demand generation tactics.

  • Partner with Product Management to influence product roadmaps, ensuring market fit and customer needs are integrated into development cycles.

Strategic Planning and AI Integration:

  • Contribute to corporate strategic planning, ensuring GTM initiatives align with broader company goals and market opportunities.

  • Conduct analysis of market trends, technological advancements, and competitive landscapes with a focus on Agentic AI.

  • Provide strategic leadership and recommendations on market entry strategies and sustainable growth.

Marketing Leadership & Brand Stewardship:

  • Guide the development of integrated marketing campaigns that support GTM objectives, ensuring brand consistency and strong storytelling across all customer touchpoints.

  • Foster a data-driven marketing culture, leveraging insights to inform decisions and demonstrate impact.

Sustainability Integration & Impact:

  • Embed sustainability principles into all aspects of GTM strategy, collaborating with the Impact team to enhance brand reputation and competitive differentiation.

Cross-Functional Leadership & Collaboration:

  • Establish feedback loops with field marketing, sales, and customer success to continuously refine positioning, messaging, and overall GTM strategies.

  • Champion cross-functional alignment, ensuring all teams are synchronized on GTM objectives and execution.

Performance Analysis & Optimization:

  • Define, track, and report on key performance indicators to measure the success of GTM initiatives.

  • Analyze data and customer feedback to iterate on strategies and optimize GTM processes for efficiency.

Required skills:

  • 10+ years experience in a related marketing role with product marketing expertise

  • Marketing experience in the technology sector and the ability to manage day-to-day execution of both strategic and tactical activities at a very fast pace

  • Hands-on ability to create a range of marketing assets including on-message product demo videos, sharp succinct slide pitch-decks in Apple Keynote and Microsoft PowerPoint

  • Collaboration with cross-functional team (Creative Services, Corporate Marketing, Demand Generation, Sales) to deliver world-class marketing programs to our customers

  • Marketing portfolio with examples showcasing your writing style

  • Ability to use data and analytics to drive decision making as well as a strong track record of setting and delivering against measurable marketing metrics

  • Strong communication and writing skills, and an ability to translate complex ideas into creative content and work across business lines

  • Strong team player with excellent organization and people skills and the ability to set priorities, problem-solve, multi-task and work in a global, dynamic environment

  • Manage and lead through ambiguity - be comfortable with constant change Familiarity with the customer engagement lifecycle and CRM applications a plus

  • Education: Bachelor's degree; MBA a plus (but we also love brilliant people who didn't go to business school)

For Illinois based roles, the base salary hiring range for this position is $177,600 to $257,600.
