ABOUT THE JOB:

The Area Fleet Maintenance Manager is responsible for oversight of all rolling stock maintenance management and execution across a large geographic area in North America. The AFMM will manage the post-acquisition to disposition processes in the asset lifecycle including but not limited to PM compliance, uptime, outside service management and negotiation, fuel cards, and fault Code Management. They will also develop and manage projects associated with fleet health as assigned.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

  • Develop and maintain an in-depth knowledge of rolling stock across North America.
  • Create and manage KPI's such as uptime, pm compliance, cost per mile, and DVIR compliance.
  • Collaborate with Compliance and Legal teams to ensure audit preparedness and adherence to regulatory requirements by maintaining accurate, complete, and up-to-date operational documentation.
  • Monitor and improve upon SOX compliance in all rolling stock fleet related projects and activities.
  • Review and approve spec for new rolling stock fleet including performing factory visits and inspections of new production units as required.
  • Assist with maintaining electronic records of all rolling stock fleet specifications.
  • Manage vendor relationships for third-party maintenance services, ensuring service levels, pricing, and turnaround times align with contractual expectations and operational requirements.
  • Develop and execute asset redeployment plans ensuring that rolling stock fleet asset utilization is optimized while minimizing cost.
  • Manage telematics programs with Geotab and Lytx including fault code management, DVIR response management, idle time, and other reporting and executional tasks.
  • Lead and assist with general rolling stock training for Field Operations teams.
  • Drive the creation and enhancement of Rolling Stock-related processes and standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure field teams receive clear, consistent, and actionable guidance.
  • Own and manage the tactical execution of key rolling stock fleet related business requirements including, but not limited to, field inventory, asset disposition, system data integrity, and other areas as assigned.
  • Provide regular updates to Senior Management regarding ongoing projects and action plans.
  • Create and distribute rolling stock fleet data reporting as required.
  • Supporting execution of IRP, IFTA, Highway use tax, base plate registration, titling, plate renewals.
  • Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 5+ years of rolling stock (fleet) management across a geographically diverse organization
  • Demonstrated ability to manage outside service vendors utilizing tools like Geotab, Element, WEX and others.
  • Demonstrates the ability to work in a corporate environment while collaborating with remote operations team members.
  • Self-motivated with excellent time management skills.
  • Extremely detail oriented with excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to travel as required.
  • Strong ability to manage product quality, deadlines, high volume requirements, and multiple projects concurrently.
  • Ability to interact with and effectively manage OEM's and Upfitters.
  • Excellent PC proficiency with Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint. Knowledge of Geotab and Element preferred.
  • Located in Phoenix, AZ
