Job Summary: |
The Idrovo Lab (Department of Surgery) seeks an accomplished Research Associate to spearhead projects investigating inflammatory signaling and remoteorgan damage following trauma. We integrate cellular and animal models with multi-omics, high-resolution imaging, and genomeediting technologies to uncover mechanisms that confer hepatocyte resilience to acute stress. The Research Associate will design, execute, and troubleshoot complex experiments; analyze and interpret largescale datasets; lead manuscript preparation; contribute to grant proposals; and mentor junior trainees. This is a careertrack position offering significant autonomy, authorship opportunities, and leadership responsibilities within a collaborative environment. Key Responsibilities:
Conceive, plan, and direct invitro and invivo studies focused on trauma-induced inflammation and liver biology. Maintain primary and immortalized cell cultures and oversee advanced cellular assays (e.g., metabolic flux, CRISPR-based screens). Conduct mouse procedures under IACUC protocols, including survival surgeries and tissue harvesting. Perform molecular analyses such as RNAseq library prep, singlecell workflows, qPCR, Western blotting, ELISAs, and multiplex assays. Integrate multi-omics datasets using R or Python; collaborate with bioinformatics core facilities. Draft manuscripts, generate publication-quality figures, and assist the PI in writing grant applications (NIH, DoD, foundation). Train and supervise graduate students, residents, and staff; foster a culture of scientific rigor, safety, and inclusiveness. Oversee day-to-day lab operations-including ordering, inventory, equipment maintenance, and regulatory compliance.
