Overview

Responsibilities

As an Intelligence Operations & Technology SME with AMERICAN SYSTEMS you will have the opportunity to do the following:

    Serve as an operational Subject Matter Expert (SME) for intelligence and technology systems, providing expert guidance throughout project lifecycles in accordance with ISO, IEEE and customer standards.
  • Advise and support acquisition, integration, and optimization of intelligence technologies and surveillance solutions to align with mission-critical border security operations.
  • Analyze, assess, and interpret intelligence requirements and provide recommendations for technology adaptation, risk mitigation, and operational integration.
  • Prepare and deliver high-level technical briefings, presentations, and reports to leadership, government representatives, and partner agencies.
  • Review and ensure the accuracy, completeness, and compliance of technical documentation, traceability matrices, and program deliverables as specified in the SOW.
  • Support IV&V teams by contributing operational insights to design reviews, test readiness assessments, and operational readiness reviews of intelligence and surveillance systems.
  • Engage in requirements development, ensuring intelligence/technology solutions are fully traceable to operational needs, testable, and scalable for mission use.
  • Provide expert evaluation of candidate technologies for interoperability, security standards (including cybersecurity), and operational suitability specific to customer environments.
  • Collaborate across multidisciplinary teams, participating in program reviews and offering expert advice on complex, state-of-the-art intelligence technology acquisitions.
  • Mentor and guide less experienced staff; may assume supervisory responsibilities over project teams or technical working groups.


Qualifications

  • Active Top Secret or DHS clearance required
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • Previous experience with the Department of Homeland Security.
  • 12+ years of experience in law enforcement, intelligence, and associated operational technology.
  • Proficiency in capability analysis, cost analysis, and acquisition documentation.
  • Knowledge of federal IT security policies, including HIPAA, NIST, and AWS compliance standards.
  • Excellent writing, communications, and briefings skills.


Pay Transparency Statement

AMERICAN SYSTEMS is committed to pay transparency for our applicants and employee-owners. The salary range for this position is USD $113,400.00/Yr. - USD $189,300.00/Yr. Actual compensation will be determined based on several factors permitted by law.
