Heavy Equipment Operator - Avenal Landfill (Waste Connections) Location: Avenal, CA Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM-4:00 PM and most likely every other Saturday, 7:00 AM-12:00 PM Pay & Benefits Starting Pay: $22-$26/hour (based on experience) Full Range: $22-$27/hour Comprehensive Benefits Package: Medical, dental, and vision insurance 401(k) with company match Paid vacation and holidays Life and disability insurance Career growth opportunities Why Join Waste Connections? At Avenal Landfill, we offer: A safety-first culture A tight-knit team that values integrity and hard work Local decision-making and support Stability and growth in a recession-resistant industry What You'll Do Operate dozers, excavators, and loaders to manage waste and debris Grade and move soil to support landfill operations Perform routine equipment inspections and maintenance Assist customers and team members on-site Drive company vehicles for parts runs as needed What We're Looking For 2+ years of heavy equipment operation experience Valid driver's license with a clean record Ability to lift 50 lbs unassisted Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions Team player with a strong work ethic Work Environment Expect to work outdoors in hot, cold, or dusty conditions, with exposure to heavy equipment and machinery.
