Job Description: The IT System Engineer maintains the technology foundation essential to JHS's operations. This role ensures our IT infrastructure's integrity, security, and performance through expert management of our on-premises datacenter, architecture, and optimization of hyper converged infrastructure, Windows domain administration, oversight of robust backup and recovery solutions, and delicate handling of highly critical legacy systems. The position requires technical proficiency in building and supporting business-critical servers and appliances, as well as the foresight and strategic vision to align infrastructure with organizational objectives.
- System Design and Implementation: Architect and deploy systems and software solutions to meet rapidly evolving business needs.
- System Administration: Maintain operational excellence through proactive maintenance, patching, and troubleshooting of hypervisor, OS, software, and hardware issues.
- Automation: Design and implement automation frameworks to enhance infrastructure operations' efficiency, reliability, and scalability.
- System Monitoring: Proactively monitor system performance, errors, alerts, and meaningful metrics to ensure infrastructure stability and availability.
- Cloud Services: Be knowledgeable in Office 365 / Entra / Intune / Exchange and provide support and troubleshooting as needed.
- Project Management: Lead technical projects from conception to deployment, ensuring alignment with business needs, budget, and timeline.
- Technical Analysis: Apply advanced diagnostic skills to resolve complex infrastructure challenges.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Partner with engineering teams, stakeholders, and management in projects and day-to-day operations.
- Documentation: Develop comprehensive technical documentation for system configurations, processes, and maintenance procedures.
- Additional Responsibilities: Perform other duties as directed by IT Management
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree required.
- Microsoft Systems Certifications (MCSA/MCSE) desired.
- VMware Certified Associate (VCA/VCP/VCAP) desired.
- Other Systems related certificates will be valued desired.
- Minimum five years of related experience required.
- Experience managing on premise data centers, Windows domains, backup, and application support is required.
- Proven system design for high-availability, redundancy, recoverability, scalability, and maintainability required.
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex problems and identify root causes required.
- Cloud, Security, and Automation experience desired.
- Pharmaceutical and FDA-regulated industry experience is desired.
- Regulated industry experience desired.
- Eight years of related experience can be used instead of a degree. A high school diploma or equivalent is still required.
- VMware, Virtualized Environments, on premise Data Center Management required.
- Dell PowerEdge and/or Dell VxRail experience required.
- Windows Server, Windows Domains, and core domain services (AD, DNS, DHCP, SMB) experience required.
- Microsoft Office Suite, Office 365, Entra, Intune, Exchange, Storage, Network, Cloud and Security experience required.
- Extended periods of sitting and performing computer-related tasks required.
Shift: Weekday Days, Monday- Friday Compensation & Benefits: This is an on-site, full-time position located in Spokane, WA.
- Hiring Wage: $77,968.80 - $118,300 annually depending on experience, with opportunity for growth, promotion and annual raises. Midpoint and above is reserved for employees who have longevity with Jubilant HollisterStier and consistently exhibit outstanding performance over a period of time in the role
