Introduction

The Office of the County Administrator is the highest-level management office of the Loudoun County Government and supports the Board of Supervisors in shaping the strategic and policy direction of the county. The County Administrator directs and supervises the day-to-day operations of all county departments and agencies, which are under the direct control of the Board of Supervisors pursuant to county ordinances and regulations.


Job Summary

The Office of the County Administrator is seeking a qualified and professional Executive Assistant to provide high-level administrative support to executives and senior staff. The ideal candidate is resourceful, self-motivated, and highly organized, with strong time management skills and the ability to thrive in a collaborative, team-oriented environment. Success in this role requires excellent communication and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to work independently and take initiative.

Under general direction, the Executive Assistant performs a wide range of complex and confidential administrative duties with professionalism and discretion. The role requires adaptability, sound judgment, and a commitment to supporting executive leadership with efficiency and integrity.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Performs complex and confidential administrative support duties for members of the executive team and collaborates with other Executive Assistants to ensure effective coordination.
  • Manages the executive's calendar with awareness of other executives' schedules; coordinates meetings and appointments; prepares and distributes materials such as meeting agendas and related documents; takes meeting minutes as needed; notifies staff of the executive's commitments; arranges business travel; and reserves meeting rooms and catering as needed.
  • Serves as a liaison between the executive and staff, elected and appointed officials, external organizations, and the public.
  • Manages the flow of information in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Provides administrative support, including drafting and editing correspondence, reports, and presentations; prepares expense reports; may also conduct research or assist with special projects as needed.
  • Supports general office operations as needed, including front desk coverage; assisting with Board of Supervisors business meetings and public hearings-which may occasionally require evening attendance; and contributing to special projects and events.
This position is in-person, with no hybrid or telework options available. Work schedule is Monday - Friday, 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

Hiring salary is commensurate with experience.

Minimum Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:
High School diploma or equivalent; five (5) years of related clerical/administrative work experience with computer automated systems and office applications experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams) and DocuSign.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with keen attention to detail.
