The City of Turner is a vibrant and growing community located just south of Salem, Oregon, with a population of 2,944. Turner is a highly desired place to live. It has excellent schools and is very close-knit. It features the best of small town living, with a bigger city nearby. The City’s long-time and highly respected Police Chief is retiring. The Police Department is very professional and supported by the community. The City of Turner is seeking a leader with excellent skills and experience and a strong record of community engagement. The new Chief must be dedicated, approachable, collaborative and open-minded. The new Chief must have a strong administrative skill set and the ability to work with partnering agencies. The position performs all administrative functions for the department and is also part of the regular patrol schedule. The salary for this position will be commensurate with experience and regionally competitive. The current range for the position is $85,000 to $107,000 annually. The position has excellent benefits, which includes paid sick time and holidays, as well as high quality family medical, dental and vision benefits.
