Saint Louis University (SLU) School of Medicine and SLU Care Physician Group (SLU Care), the academic medical group of SSM Health, seeks a dynamic leader for the role of Chair of the Department of Adult Emergency Medicine. This position offers a unique opportunity to influence the future of Emergency Medicine across the greater St. Louis area through the SLU School of Medicine and the SSM Health network, advancing both academic and clinical missions. The Department includes state-of-the-art medical education, compassionate patient care, and a growing research enterprise. With the integration of the School's physician practice organization (SLU Care) into SSM Health, Emergency Medicine, formerly a division, is poised for growth as a department across each of its mission areas of patient care, education, and research. The inaugural Chair of the Department of Emergency Medicine reports to the Dean of the School of Medicine for the Department's academic mission of education and research and to the Vice Dean for Clinical Affairs for its patient care mission. Key Responsibilities The Chair of Adult Emergency Medicine is responsible for the management of the Department functions, including education, research, and clinical services.

The clinical duties associated with this position will be performed as a member of the SSM Health SLU Care Physician Group. The Chair will be wholly employed by SSM Health.
