Overview: We are seeking a skilled and experienced Critical Environment Technician with a strong electrical focus to lead operations and maintenance of mission-critical infrastructure in a data center environment. This role is responsible for ensuring the reliability, safety, and efficiency of electrical and mechanical systems while supervising a team of technicians and coordinating with vendors and internal stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities: Team Leadership & Supervision * Lead and mentor a team of technicians managing critical environment systems. * Develop shift schedules and delegate tasks to ensure 24/7 operational coverage. * Enforce compliance with safety, training, and operational standards. Operations & Maintenance * Oversee the operation, monitoring, and maintenance of electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety systems. * Conduct routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and emergency repairs. * Minimize disruption during system changes or outages. Vendor & Stakeholder Coordination * Serve as the primary contact for vendors, contractors, and internal teams. * Ensure quality and safety compliance during third-party activities. Infrastructure Planning & Support * Assist in server installations, upgrades, and infrastructure changes. * Support disaster recovery testing and emergency readiness. Reporting & Documentation * Maintain accurate records of system performance, incidents, and maintenance activities. * Provide timely updates and reports to management and stakeholders. Technical Capabilities: * Proficient in supporting electrical infrastructure across data center campuses. * Experience with Building Management Systems (EPMS). * Familiarity with Remote Power Panel (RPP) shutdowns, Power Distribution Unit (PDU) maintenance, and Power Interruption Testing (PIT). * Understanding of master controller shutdowns and replacements. * Working knowledge of the National Electrical Code. Qualifications: Required: * High school diploma, GED, or equivalent. * 5+ years of experience in technical fields such as automotive, electrical, controls, or data center operations. * OSHA or OSHA-approved NFPA 70E Certification. * Experience with electrical systems in high-availability environments (e.g., data centers, hospitals, manufacturing). * Ability to work flexible schedules including 12-hour shifts, rotating shifts, and varied work weeks. * Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Excel, Word). Preferred: * Qualified Electrical Worker certification. * Previous data center experience. Top Skills: * 3+ years of experience managing critical infrastructure, preferably in a commercial data center. * Strong leadership in electrical systems and team management. * Qualified Electrical Worker certification. *Pay and Benefits* The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $50.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
