Job Posting: Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) Location: Remote Clearance: Must be able to obtain Public Trust Employment Type: Full-time Position Summary Precise is seeking a strategic and growth-minded Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) to lead the vision, execution, and expansion of our cybersecurity practice. This role combines enterprise-level security leadership with a growth-oriented focus on expanding Precise's presence in the federal cybersecurity market. The ideal candidate brings deep experience in operational security as well as a demonstrated ability to support business development efforts - including identifying future work, shaping opportunities, and supporting proposals. This is a senior executive position, with responsibility for driving both the protection of enterprise and customer environments and the continued expansion of Precise's cybersecurity footprint in the federal space. Key Responsibilities Cybersecurity Leadership
- Define and lead the company's cybersecurity strategy, architecture, and operations.
- Direct security compliance efforts (FISMA, FedRAMP, NIST, CMMC, etc.) across multiple federal programs.
- Oversee security operations including SOC leadership, threat monitoring, vulnerability management, incident response, and continuous monitoring.
- Advise executive leadership and federal clients on emerging cyber threats and mitigation strategies.
- Build and lead a high-performing security organization with a strong culture of accountability and innovation.
- Embed security into cloud modernization and Agile/DevSecOps initiatives.
Growth and Capture Support
- Expand Precise's footprint in the federal cybersecurity market by identifying and shaping new business opportunities.
- Partner with BD and capture teams to influence pipeline development and secure follow-on and net-new contracts.
- Lead or support technical proposal writing and oral presentations as the cybersecurity SME.
- Represent Precise at industry events, security roundtables, and technical working groups.
- Build and maintain trusted relationships with customer CISOs, IT leadership, and industry partners.
Qualifications
- 10-15+ years of progressive experience in cybersecurity, including 5+ years in senior/executive leadership roles.
- Proven track record securing federal environments, preferably including CMS, HHS, or other civilian agencies.
- Demonstrated success supporting capture and proposal development within federal contracting.
- Strong knowledge of cloud security (AWS, Azure), security frameworks, and compliance mandates.
- Exceptional executive communication skills and the ability to inspire cross-functional teams.
- Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CISA, or CCSP preferred.
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or related field (Master's preferred).
