Overview

Materials Planner schedules, plans, and coordinates the flow of products and materials through the Packaging manufacturing process, including in-house and outsource processes. The position involves working with different computer applications to track products and moving/preparing materials on the manufacturing floor for shipment and inventory.


Responsibilities

  • Fulfill demand requirements by examining MRP in SAP for housings, covers, and other mechanical parts.
  • Run weekly build plans and Excel spreadsheets based on WIP and production requirements.
  • Receive material into inventory locations and make sure inventory in SAP is accurate through detailed material transactions and periodic cycle counts.
  • Ensure that planning data is properly maintained in SAP and are aligned with applicable program plans and schedules.
  • Support production programs by working with the Program Managers and Value Stream managers.
  • Track status of housing shortages and provide forecasted delivery timelines to Assembly.
  • Track material used in the production area and communicate requirements to Purchasing.
  • Coordinate all aspects of outsourced services (housing plating, rib plating, and grinding) and generate packing slips and other shipping documents as required.
  • Update PO line items in SAP for outsourced services and work with Accounting and suppliers to resolve any issues.
  • Maintain configuration and serial control of production hardware, drive ECO/router implementations, and ensure seamless revision changes.
  • Flag production problems and coordinate resolution through appropriate support and management personnel.
  • Follow all work instructions related to job tasks and review/update work instructions as needed.
  • Perform additional tasks like running data reports, completing special projects, and conducting other planning duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum

  • High School or GED diploma
  • Intermediate Computer skills including Excel and Word
  • At least 1 year of experience in planning and production control
  • This position requires access to technology, materials, software or hardware that is controlled by US export laws. In order to be eligible for this position, you must be a "US Person" under US export laws (or eligible for approval under a U.S. Government export license).

Preferred

  • Associate's degree
  • Work experience in manufacturing
  • Experience with Supply Chain concepts
  • MRP, SAP experience
  • Must be organized and detail oriented
  • Must have strong communication skills

Salary Range: $34.00 - $38.00 hourly (Level I). Applicable pay within the posted range may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, geographical location, job function of the position, education, and experience of the successful candidate.
