About The Role: As an NDT/NDE Technician, you'll be an essential part of the team responsible for verifying the safety and reliability of our structures. This role focuses heavily on hands-on inspection of structural steel-both welded and bolted connections-where each project brings new challenges. Fieldwork often requires climbing and working at significant heights (over 200 feet) on buildings, towers, and water tanks, using fall protection and personal fall arrest systems.
Inspections & Non-Destructive Testing: Perform detailed evaluations and apply non-destructive testing techniques to confirm compliance with strict quality requirements. Much of your time will be spent carrying out methods such as ultrasonic testing (UT) and magnetic particle testing (MT) of welds.
Project Support: Take on testing assignments across a variety of projects, ensuring accurate results and contributing to project completion and client satisfaction.
Equipment Care & Compliance: Keep testing tools and equipment properly maintained and calibrated, which includes overseeing inventory, documenting calibration records, and assisting with quality audits.
This position will require 50+ hour work weeks (during periods of peak workload), as well as off-shift and weekend work, as required. Experience in Safety, DDC, NDT, and Radiation Training, including the use of fall protection equipment and personal fall arrest systems, is a plus. About You:
- You have a High School Diploma/GED
- You have a minimum of 2 years of NDT/NDE metals testing experience OR an associate degree in a closely related field
- You have AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification or working towards
- You have achievement of ASNT Level II certification per ASNT-SNT-TC-1A in at least one method
- Additional certifications, a plus:
- ICC certification in Building Inspections and/or Structural Steel Inspection
- Level II for UT certification
- Level II for PT, MT certifications
You Are Willing and Able to: Perform the physical demands of the position with the use of company-provided Personal Protective Equipment such as:
- Working outdoors the majority of the time in varying weather conditions
- Walking over rough, uneven terrain and standing for potentially up to 12 hours a day
- Routinely lifting and carrying 40-50lbs (field/laboratory samples and equipment)
- Maneuvering field equipment safely, such as a loaded wheelbarrow, on uneven ground around active construction sites
