Warehouse Lead


Location: Arlington, TX

Summary of Job


Oversees material distribution operations to ensure timely distribution of materials between the production floor and inventory, loading and unloading of trucks and staging finished product in designated inventory location. General housekeeping and adherence to safety, quality and throughput in accordance with Pregis policies and procedures.



Warehouse Lead Essential Functions and Responsibilities



  • Support, demonstrate and promote Pregis' core values: integrity, collaboration, customer focus and innovation
  • Adhere to the highest standards of company safety programs, guidelines, rules and regulations and communicates to ensure all safety procedures are strictly adhered to by material handlers
  • Safely drive a forklift to stage material, load trucks, unload trucks, and transfer material within the plant and within departments
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing tasks in a timely and efficient manner
  • Assists to maintain a well-organized, FIFO (first in, first out) controlled inventory by identifying and placing materials and supplies in stock locations as defined by management.
  • Coordinate with Shipping Clerk and/or Logistics Supervisor to prepare finished stock for outbound shipment by identifying, inspecting, pulling, and staging product in correct location
  • Coordinate with Shipping Clerk and/or Logistics Supervisor on outbound responsibilities including the inspection, transporting, and loading of product to include sealing of trailers and proper staging of outbound loads
  • Coordinate with Receiving Clerk and/or Logistics Supervisor on inbound responsibilities to include ensuring the proper unloading, inspection, transporting, and put-away of product including the assignment of trucks to doors
  • Be a reliable member of the team, always identifying and professionally communicating ways to improve the work environment
  • Responsible for assisting with training new material handler employees; planning, assigning, and directing work and communicating all complaints and problems to management
  • Ensure the production line has adequate supplies to operate
  • SAP responsibilities, as a back up to the Logistics Supervisor and Shipping & Receiving Clerk for receiving of inbound loads and shipping of outbound loads
  • Ensure any maintenance or repair issues for the building facilities, vehicles, and equipment are addressed timely and communicated to the management
  • Focus on continuous improvement and assists the material handler employees with identifying and resolving process improvement areas
  • Monitor material handler employees work for exactness, neatness, and conformance to quality standards, common practices and procedures
  • Participate in ensuring the quality of inbound and outbound material is to standard
  • Adhere to all PPE requirements per facility rules and regulations
  • Perform other duties and projects as assigned.

  • Knowledgeable of safety requirements and guidelines in manufacturing/warehouse environment


  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, follow standardized work instructions and adhere to safe work practices in a continuous improvement culture.



Warehouse Lead Environment




  • Exposure to moving equipment
  • Inside work
  • Heat may exceed 90 degrees Fahrenheit
  • Humidity may exceed 80%
  • Noise may exceed 85dB+
  • Personal Protective Equipment required



Physical Characteristics



  • Frequent standing, stooping, sitting
  • Frequent lifting, pushing, pulling (up to 50 lbs.)
  • Occasional typing/keyboarding



Position Type



  • Full time
  • Shift work (specify hours/shift)
  • Overtime expected per business demand



Education and Experience



  • 3-5+ years of sit-down forklift experience
  • 3-5+ years of inventory control and process improvement experience
  • Prior SAP or similar ERP system knowledge
  • 3-5+ years MS Office experience
  • High School Diploma or equivalent (GED)
