Job Details
Orthopedic experience in spine and/or joints is highly preferred. This position is primarily floor management and consults. Limited OR time. Hours: Monday-Friday (7a-3:30p), no weekends or call Sibley Memorial Hospital is a non-profit, full service 318 bed acute care community hospital serving the Washington, DC area. Sibley offers medical, surgical, intensive care, obstetric, oncology, orthopaedic, skilled nursing inpatient services, and a state-of-the-art 24-hour Emergency Department. Sibley's campus, with its new patient tower, is also home to the Johns Hopkins Kimmel Cancer Center, the Johns Hopkins National Proton Therapy Center, Grand Oaks -- an assisted living residence -- a medical building with physician offices and an ambulatory surgery and imaging center. The PA will round on orthopedic surgery inpatients, admit, manage and discharge patients as well as consultations in ED and med/surg inpatients units; complete history and physical examination, assessment/plan as well as develop differential diagnosis and treatment plan; first assisting in the operating room; finction as a liasion between the Orthopedic team and primary care providers, nurse case managers, inpatient personnel and health care professionals in other specialties. Qualifications: Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program, accredited by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA) Prior spine and/or joint experience is highly preferred Certification as a Physician Assistant by the National Commission for Certification of the Physician Assistants (NCCPA) -DC Controlled Substances License -Federal DEA License -Current BLS Certification -Current ACLS Certification What Awaits You:
