Responsibilities

Peraton is seeking a Busines System Analyst. This position will perform the following duties (but not limited too):

    Provides expertise in the formulation of systems scope and objectives relative to the legacy system requirements.
  • Interacing with the customer/end-user, determines operational objectives by studying business functions; gathering information; evaluating output requirements and formats.
  • Analyzes business and technical processes to formulate and develop new and modified technical requirements for the development team.
  • Works independently or as a member of a project team responsible for providing technical guidance related to the business implications moderinizing the current application from legacy COBOL to Java.
  • Devises and/or modifies procedures to solve technical problems related to moving current as-is system to the future, to-be state.
  • Creates detailed specifications from which programs will be written.


Qualifications

  • 5 years with BS/BA; 3 years with MS/MA; 0 years with PhD
  • Must be a US Citizen
  • Able to obtain Public Trust clearance
  • Experience working as a Business Analyst, demonstrating strong analytical skills, including a thorough understanding of how to interpret customer business needs and translate them into application and operational requirements.
  • Experience working with customers to document business requirements, functional specifications, and business rules for modifications to software application and ensure alignment with expectations of the customers/stakeholders and the desired outcomes
  • Demonstrated experience in drafting/writing communication content, materials, and products.
  • Demonstrated experience in translating technical content into formats written in plain language and easy to understand.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
  • Proven ability to integrate with a team and work well with others.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group of executives, managers, and subject matter experts

Preferred Qualifications:

Candidates with these desired skills will be given preferential consideration:

    • PMP Certified
    • Experience working within an Agile development methodology
    • Experience with analysis, visualization and reporting software and capabilities

Target Salary Range

$86,000 - $138,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
