The Role

As an Intern at AArete, you'll have the opportunity to directly impact both team and client objectives while fostering your personal growth. We seek organized, motivated individuals excited to join our experienced consulting team and serve clients across healthcare, financial services, retail, and other industries.

AArete Interns work closely with clients to understand critical issues and develop strategies for meaningful change. You'll leverage your analytical skills, entrepreneurial spirit, and commitment to excellence. We're looking for critical thinkers with exceptional communication skills who are eager to dive deep into business challenges, data analytics, and business case development to drive project success.

In this role, you'll demonstrate your analytical abilities and support the successful execution of project goals and deliverables. You'll have the chance to make a significant impact by addressing unique business challenges in both client and internal projects.

Work You'll Do

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and implement solutions that push the boundaries of innovation
  • Partner with your cohort of interns on a pro-bono consulting project, supporting a non-profit organization to improve operational efficiency
  • Work directly with AAretians across levels
  • Utilize Microsoft Excel and SQL for data analysis for clients
  • Gain insight from analysis and data interpretation to identify client savings opportunities and put together an actionable business case
  • Prepare deliverables to project leadership for final review
  • Work with our consulting teams to dissolve real world problems for clients
  • Understand business-specific context of clients
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

Education & Eligibility

  • Current undergraduate student entering either their 3rd year of a 4-year degree program or in the 4th year of a 5-year program (Spring 2027 Grad)
  • Minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship
  • Must be able to spend the summer in our downtown Chicago office
  • Direct client interaction, including possible travel to client location

Skills & Abilities

  • Strong interest in pursuing a career in consulting
  • Demonstrated passion for continuous learning and staying current with industry trends and technologies
  • Ability to approach problem-solving with logical and analytical thinking
  • Capable of understanding business and project goals to craft and deliver meaningful solutions to our clients
  • Proficient in MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, and SQL, with the ability to further develop and apply these skills
  • Works effectively both independently and in group settings
  • Excited to support Analysts, Consultants, Senior Consultants, and Managers in developing creative solutions for clients
  • Ability to demonstrate professionalism through clear communication, reliability, and the ability to represent AArete effectively with peers, senior leaders, and clients

Preferred Requirements

  • Degree/Major in Business Administration or Management, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Engineering, Data Analytics, or a related field
  • 3.3 or higher cumulative and major GPA
  • Relevant work experience, including internships, summer positions, or part-time jobs
  • Active involvement in university clubs or organizations related to consulting, business, or leadership, showcasing relevant skills and interests

Compensation

The estimated pay rate for this position is $33 / hr. Please note that this estimated rate is a guideline and individual total compensation may vary due to numerous factors including but not limited to experience level, certifications, and other relevant business considerations.
