ECOAT Technical Manager is a member of the General Industrial R&D technology leadership team and is responsible for supporting sales and marketing initiatives to drive business growth. This is achieved, through effective project management, platform development and customer tank support. ECOAT encompasses several sub-segments, such as Energy, Transportation, and Heavy Equipment. In this position, the Technical Manager will work with other members of the GI Leadership on projects that impact both regional and global customers.

Job duties include contact with other employees and access confidential and proprietary information and/or other items of value, and such access may be supervised or unsupervised. The Company therefore has determined that a review of criminal history is necessary to protect the business and its operations and reputation and is necessary to protect the safety of the Company's staff, employees, and business relationships.

* Manage lab activities to use the available FTE lab hours to prioritize and align with the Ecoat business's strategic goals by championing and driving best practices using the Navigator project, Resource Tracker, WIP tracker or other management tools.
* Work collaboratively with Sales, Marketing, and Product Management to secure and support new business.
* Work with Manufacturing and Quality to produce consistent product.
* Work with the commercial and tech service teams to maintain core Ecoat customer business
* Partner with Product Management, Purchasing, and Procurement to support raw material consolidation and cost saving initiatives.
* Develops key customer and supplier relationships to support existing business and new business growth.
* Leads a workplace culture for innovative solutions, execution excellence, and continuous improvement in a collaborative environment.
* Oversee people development using performance management, succession planning, and individual development planning tools in HR Cloud.
* Holds the technical team accountable for implementing and achieving their goals and objectives.
* Build and strengthen Ecoat lab team through mentoring, training, talent acquisition, and attrition.
* Work collaboratively with the other onsite lab teams for product development, customer trials and new opportunities
* Collect and analyze data on project metrics, to identify areas for improvement.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
* Must be legally authorized to work in the country for which you are applying for employment (without now or in the future needing sponsorship for employment work visa and/or permanent residence status).
* Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Math field.
* Minimum 8 years industry experience in the development of formulated coatings.
* Minimum 3 years of laboratory management of teams greater than 4 people.
* Strong strategic perspective and ability to deal with complex requirements and set priorities.
* Strong market knowledge, direct customer experience, and demonstrated relationships with Sales and Marketing groups.
* Proven leadership, organizational and interpersonal skills.
* Proven project management and problem-solving skills.
* English Speaking, strong communication skills, both orally and written.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
* 5 year of Ecoat Industrial formulation and troubleshooting experience
* Lean Six Sigma training
* Water Base formulation expertise

Travel Requirements: 30% Domestic and International
