This position within the Property Management team performs a broad scope of professional accounting activities involving experience, professional knowledge, and application of accounting principles and practices. They perform a wide range of detailed/complex accounting and analysis functions pertaining to the assigned fund area, accounts, or departments. They assure day-to-day operations are carried out in accordance with established accounting principles, policies, and objectives. This position works relatively independently and exercises professional judgment within the assigned function.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Assist with the preparation, basic review, and data entry of Property Management transactions within University enterprise systems.
  • Follow University policies pertaining to movable equipment and capital assets including cost coding in associated accounts as instructed.
  • Refer routine questions from department personnel regarding University financial policies and procedures relating to both capital and non-capital assets to higher-level staff.
  • Provide support for maintaining and updating parameters associated with movable equipment within University enterprise systems under supervision.
  • Assist with routine tasks involved in weekly and monthly reconciliations of the University capital asset systems to the General Ledger of the University financial system under direct supervision.
  • Provide basic clerical support for the annual physical inventory process for movable equipment, including verifying lists and entering data.
  • Collect supporting documents and perform data entry for the year-end closing of the financial statements as directed by senior staff.
  • Assist with gathering basic information for the preparation of variances for sections of financial statements associated with Treasury upon instruction.
  • Provide data entry and compile routine information to support the preparation of capital asset sections of surveys to external parties as requested by higher-level accountants.
  • Assist with simple support tasks on special projects and requests from the executive team as directed.
  • Perform other basic duties within the scope of the Treasury team as assigned by a supervisor.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Office programs and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Strong organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to work in a deadline driven environment.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent advanced learning attained through experience required.
  • 1 year of relevant work experience required.
Preferred Qualifications

  • A business-specific bachelor's degree or equivalent advanced accounting learning attained through professional level experience.
