TheOutpatient Imaging Department is currently recruiting for a casual Radiologic Technologist to be based out of our Glen Mills office. PRIMARY FUNCTION: To perform diagnostic radiographic procedures according to departmental policy and guidelines PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Demonstrates complete knowledge and proficiency in the use of radiographic equipment, radiology supported computer systems, and CD burners.
- Performs diagnostic radiographic procedures and quality control as defined by department guidelines.
- Assist with the coordination of workflow and patient care activities.
- Obtain clinical history regarding reason for examination and obtains appropriate consent.
- Assists in the learning process of students and new staff in departmental procedures, quality control and radiation safety.
- Maintains required credentials for CPR, critical skills, and mandatory in-service education.
- Reports to supervisor, in a timely manner, any unsafe activities, conditions, hazards, or safety violations that may cause injury to oneself, other employees, patients and visitors.
- Demonstrates skills and knowledge necessary to provide care appropriate to neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients, including knowledge of growth and development.
- Provides excellent customer service to patients, family members, physicians and staff.
- Performs other duties as required.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- Completion of two-year accredited program in Radiologic Technology is required.
- Mammography certified when applicable (achieved within two years of hire - when applicable)
- Bone Dosimetry certification when applicable
- State Licensure on Radiation Protection is required.
- CPR Certification
- An Associate's degree is required; candidates are required to obtain their Associates of Science degree (can be substituted within a related field), within three (3) years of their start date as outlined in the Education Agreement required to be signed as a condition of employment.
- Yearly PEEPS certification required for proper and safe positioning and transfer of patients.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to provide care appropriate to all ages of patients including neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients.
- Knowledge related to radiographic positioning, procedure techniques and quality control.
- Knowledge of anatomy and medical terminology.
- Knowledge of departmental, hospital, and Radiation Safety policies/procedures.
- Ability to function effectively as part of a small cohesive team is critical.
- Ability to work independently and respond to a stressful situation.
- Ability to physically respond to a crisis.
- Ability to interact with all types of personnel and patients.
- Ability to learn new technology.
- Ability to adjust work schedules and volunteer for extra shifts if workload warrants.
- Ability to coordinate simultaneous examination with accuracy.
- Skill in oral and written communication.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
- ARRT registered
- ARRT Mammography Registered if applicable - the successful completion of the Mammography Registration exam is a requirement for those performing mammography procedures. A technologist, who is recruited and non-certified, will have a grace period of 2 years following hire to pass this exam.

Hourly Pay Range: $32.77 - $52.43
This pay rate/range represents ChristianaCare's good faith and reasonable estimate of compensation at the time of posting. The actual salary within this range offered to a successful candidate will depend on individual factors including without limitation skills, relevant experience, and qualifications as they relate to specific job requirements.
