Your role

The Sr. Machine Maintenance Technician Sr. Machine Maintenance Technician at Edwards Vacuum is critical to ensuring the reliability and optimal performance of production equipment and facilities in our dry pump manufacturing environment. This role focuses on executing preventive and corrective maintenance for CNC machining centers, robotic assembly systems, PLC-controlled equipment, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, testing rigs, and paint shop operations. The technician collaborates with internal teams and external contractors to minimize downtime, enhance equipment performance, and support factory layout and equipment relocation initiatives.

Key Responsibilites:

Maintenance & Equipment Reliability
* Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on production equipment to ensure operational reliability. This includes:
- CNC machines (e.g., Fanuc, Siemens controls)
- Robotic assembly systems
- PLC-controlled systems (e.g., Siemens, Allen-Bradley)
- Hydraulic and pneumatic systems
- Testing equipment
- Paint shop systems
* Monitor equipment performance and operating parameters to ensure optimal functionality and uptime.
* Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and control system failures in production and facility equipment.
* Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities using Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
* Conduct inspections and document findings on a daily, weekly, quarterly, and annual basis.
Collaboration & Continuous Improvement
* Work closely with Advanced Manufacturing and Manufacturing Engineering teams to support site layout planning and equipment relocation.
* Participate in cross-functional teams to review completed repairs and recommend improvements to reduce downtime and increase mean time between failures (MTBF).
* Support the integration of new equipment into existing production lines, ensuring proper setup, calibration, and operational readiness.
* Contribute to the implementation and ongoing improvement of Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) initiatives.
Safety & Compliance
* Ensure that only properly trained personnel operate equipment within the facility.
* Adhere to all safety protocols and regulatory requirements during maintenance and equipment handling.
* Maintain a clean and organized work environment, promoting a culture of safety and accountability.

* Proven experience in maintaining CNC five-axis machines, robotics, and PLC programming.
* Extensive knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
* Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and engineering drawings.
* Prolific in troubleshooting and repairing complex mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems.
* Proven experience with CMMS platforms and maintenance documentation practices.
* Excellent communication and teamwork skills with a spirit of cooperation.
* Minimum of 3 Years proven experience with CNC equipment maintenance.

This role requires precision handling of tools and machinery, often in a manufacturing setting with prolonged physical engagement.

* Hand and Finger Use/Dexterity: Uses hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools, or controls continually or almost continually (89% of the time), with arm-hand steadiness, finger dexterity, and manual dexterity for precise manipulation and assembly.
* Standing/Walking: Remains in an upright stationary position continually or almost continually (62% of the time), with occasional traversing to position materials or equipment.
* Moving Objects/Lifting/Carrying: Frequently moves, transports, positions, or installs materials and tools, involving general physical activities like balancing or stooping; requires multilimb coordination but no specific weight levels detailed.
* Bending/Twisting/Reaching: Positions self by bending or twisting the body less than half the time (31%), with moderate flexibility needs.
* Repetitive Motions: Performs repetitive actions continually or almost continually (46% of the time), demanding sustained control of machines.
* Other Environmental Factors: Exposed to hazardous equipment, contaminants, noise, or minor injury risks daily (43-62% of the time); wears protective equipment (e.g., glasses, hearing protection) every day (94% of the time).
