Your Role

As a Gensler Architect with our team in Baltimore, your job is to combine creativity and technical knowledge with business skills and understanding to produce functionally beautiful spaces for clients. You will collaborate with your teammates to develop design solutions and coordinate design through the construction documentation and administration phases of core and shell and interior architecture projects. You will be successful because you already know how to translate sketches and documents into realized 2D/3D models and images and can research artistic and/or technical issues when they arise. What You Will Do

  • Collaborate on base building, interior architecture and interior design projects that include programming client needs, conceptual design, schematic design, design development, space planning, and management of budgets and schedules.
  • Design and deliver functional and beautiful spaces for projects within practice areas such as: Critical Facilities, Government and Defense, Sciences, Office Developers, Workplaces for Technology, Financial Services Firms and Professional Services Firms, Strategy, Cities and Urban Design and more
  • Provide project team coordination for finished plans, specifications, and material selections; ensure design intent is incorporated into the construction documentation
  • Work with consultants, contractors, fabricators, specification writers, and regulatory agencies to meet overall project objectives
  • Manage client, team and project coordination, including full documentation coordination with structural, MEP, lighting, AV, landscape and civil consultants
  • Through the development of construction documents, provide technical guidance and innovative solutions to resolve complex technical and design challenges
  • Facilitate construction administration, process submittals, conduct and document site visits, address technical issues, and maintain quality control during construction
  • Establish and maintain ongoing, productive client relationships

Your Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture from an accredited program
  • 5-10 years of relevant experience with ground up buildings. Additional experience with interior architecture is a plus
  • Proficiency with Revit is a must. Experience with SketchUp, AutoCAD + 3-D, Enscape, Grasshopper, and Rhino is a plus
  • Experience writing specifications is a plus
  • Working knowledge of building codes, standards, building construction, and building structures
  • Conceptual 3-dimensional thinking and graphic presentation skills to effectively communicate design ideas
  • Flexibility to focus on concurrent projects in various stages of development
  • Ability to communicate design ideas and direction quickly
  • A quick learner with an ability to thrive in a fast-paced work environment
  • Strong leadership, organization, communication and relationship management skills
  • Licensed / Registered Architect
  • LEED accreditation is a plus
  • Demonstrated commitment to sustainability and sustainable building practices; If possible, portfolios should include at least one project (especially built projects with LEED, Living Building Challenge, WELL Building Standard, Fitwell, and/or Net Zero Building certification) with this particular focus, which we look forward to discussing during the interview

*The estimated base salary range for this position is $85-110k, plus eligibility for bonuses and a comprehensive benefits package, with final compensation contingent on relevant experience.
