The Quality and Safety Investigator I plays a key role in advancing Lee Healths commitment to excellence in patient care and safety. This position supports the Patient Safety and Quality Improvement Department by conducting thorough investigations of reported safety events and quality concerns. The investigator utilizes evidence-based practice, recognized safety methodologies, and standardized event taxonomy to assess, classify, and analyze occurrences within the health system. This role collaborates with multidisciplinary teams to identify trends, develop actionable insights, and promote system-wide improvements that align with Lee Healths Fair and Just Culture and strategic priorities.

Requirements

Education:

  • Associate degree required; Bachelors degree in Nursing preferred.

Experience:

  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in a clinical healthcare setting required.

  • Critical care or acute care experience preferred.

Licensure:

  • Current and active Registered Nurse (RN) license required.

Certifications:

  • Certified Professional in Patient Safety (CPPS), Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ), or Certified Risk Manager (CRM) preferred.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong analytical, investigative, and critical thinking abilities.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate effectively across departments.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and data management tools.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, adapt to changing demands, and maintain attention to detail.

  • Demonstrated commitment to promoting a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
