The Professional Practice Evaluation Specialist supports and coordinates Lee Healths system-wide medical quality review and professional practice evaluation program. This role is essential in promoting clinical excellence, ensuring accountability, and fostering continuous performance improvement among the medical staff.

The Specialist utilizes critical thinking, analytical skills, and clinical expertise to facilitate the medical staff peer review process, support Medical Staff Quality Committees, and provide physicians with timely, meaningful performance feedback. Working collaboratively across the Patient Safety and Quality Improvement Department and other clinical disciplines, this position helps integrate evidence-based practices into daily care delivery and advances Lee Healths commitment to a culture of safety, quality, and professional growth.

Requirements

Education:

  • Bachelors degree in Nursing required.

  • If holding an Associates degree in Nursing, must obtain a Bachelors degree in Nursing within five (5) years of hire or transfer.

Experience:

  • Minimum of three (3) years of clinical nursing experience in a healthcare setting required.

  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in quality improvement, patient safety, or peer review required.

Licensure:

  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) or Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) license required in the State of Florida.

Certifications:

  • Certified Professional in Patient Safety (CPPS) or Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) preferred.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and public speaking skills.

  • Strong analytical, organizational, and critical-thinking abilities.

  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Visio, and PowerPoint.

  • Ability to manage multiple complex responsibilities and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.

  • Demonstrated commitment to fostering a Just Culture and advancing clinical quality and professional accountability.
