 GENERAL JOB SUMMARY: The test technician will perform final testing of shelters in areas such as water-tightness, electrical function, and EMI. iThey will also support mechanical, structural and environmental testing, test fixture fabrication, test/product problem resolution, CAPA's, witness of offsite testing by subcontractors and other miscellaneous test functions as directed by the test supervisor. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: 
 
  
 - Receive instructions verbally from test supervisor/engineers, from work orders, and ATP's.
 - Work independently or under general direction, with a positive attitude and excellent decision making skills.
 - Complete tests as scheduled in a timely manner.
 - Responsible for recording data in the ATPis correctly and accurately.
 - Set up and operate all types of test equipment, tools and gages required to perform test functions.
 - Represent Kratos test team during audits, inspection, and as a key part of test acceptance with customer and government personnel.
 - Ensure department work areas are safe, healthy, and environmentally compliant through training, implementation of EHS policies, FOD policy and continuous improvement.
 - Responsible for NCM/CAPA initiation and follow up.
 - May be required to witness offsite testing by subcontractors.
 - May be required to perform off site testing both domestically and internationally in some rare instances.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: 
 
  
 - High school diploma, GED, trade school (Electrical), or equivalent.
 - Required: 1 - 3 years on-the-job experience in testing or mechanical assembly (or closely associated discipline).
 
  
 
 
Required: 
 
  
 - Ability to performing all testing operations, especially water tightness, electrical function, and EMI.
 - Ability to read complicated drawings, schematics and specifications.
 - Ability to use and understand test procedures.
 - Ability to use digital volt meters, gages, signal sources, spectrum analyzers, high voltage power sources, and generators.
 - Ability to operate tow-motors / forklifts.
 - Basic computer skills, (Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel).
 
  
 
 
WORK ENVIROMENT / PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: 
 
  
 - Shop Floor Environment.
 - Ability to remain in an enclosed shelter for up to 60 minutes at a time.
 - Ability to stand and sit for long periods of time.
 - Ability to perform repetitive motion (sweeping antenna, keyboarding, using small/large tools).
 - Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
 - Ability to tolerate constant noise (i.e.: machine motors, pounding rain).
 - Ability to work safely in the presence of hazardous chemicals and hazardous conditions.
 - Ability to follow standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
 - Ability to work outdoors occasionally.
