The Sr. Statistical Analyst at Fred Hutch Cancer Center provides advanced statistical support for faculty in Epidemiology. Working closely with principal investigators, faculty, and research teams, this role applies rigorous statistical methods to analyze complex biomedical and public health data, ensuring the integrity and reproducibility of research findings. The Sr Analyst also contributes to study design, data management strategies, and the preparation of publications, grants, and presentations, playing a critical role in advancing Fred Hutch's mission to prevent, diagnose, and treat cancer and related diseases.



Responsibilities

The Sr. Statistical Analyst spends the majority of work time coordinating and providing statistical support to research studies. Responsibilities may include some or all of the following:

    Provide statistical consulting for research studies.
  • Provide statistical analysis of project data.
  • Prepare written summaries and tables of results for use in project reports, scientific papers, scientific presentations, and grant applications.
  • May serve as lead statistician for protocols.
  • Consult with SCHARP data management and operations groups to insure that accurate data reaches statisticians for analysis.
  • Work with SDMC Statistical Leadership or the DAU Head to implement and improve processes to standardize statistical analyses.
  • Establish goals and timetables for projects.
  • Coordinate production of statistical reports.
  • Oversee the design of data collection, management, and analysis systems.
  • Oversee the development, coordination, and evaluation of quality assurance procedures for ongoing data collection and analysis.
  • Represent department/project at scientific meetings; give oral presentations of study results.
  • Develop training materials and provide mentorship to junior staff.
  • Develop and evaluate new statistical software.
  • Perform other responsibilities as required.


Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master's degree in Statistics or Biostatistics and minimum of 7-9 years of related experience, preferably with clinical trial experience.
  • Background in statistical computing.
  • Proficiency with statistical packages used in the department/project (R and SAS).

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Experience in oncology, clinical trials, or population health research.
  • Familiarity with database systems, electronic health records, or high-dimensional data (omics, imaging, etc.).
  • Evidence of contributions to peer-reviewed publications and grant applications.
  • Demonstrated expertise in statistical software (e.g., R, SAS, Stata, or Python).
  • Strong understanding of study design, epidemiologic methods, and statistical modeling.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects with competing deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to translate technical findings for diverse audiences.

The annual base salary range for this position is from $71,126 to $118,529, and pay offered will be based on experience and qualifications.

This position is not eligible for H1-B sponsorship at this time.
