About the Role

Fishbeck is seeking a skilled Water & Wastewater Engineer to join our growing team. This position involves a mix of design and field work, with immediate needs focused on field-based construction support for water and wastewater treatment projects in Mid-Michigan. The ideal candidate will bring hands-on experience in inspection, construction observation, or resident project representation (RPR) and a strong understanding of treatment plant design principles.

Key Responsibilities


  • Perform field inspection, observation, and documentation for water and wastewater treatment plant construction projects.
  • Assist with design tasks, including evaluations, calculations, and preparation of plans and specifications.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary project teams across Fishbeck offices.
  • Support engineering staff with data evaluation, report preparation, and project coordination.
  • Interact directly with clients, contractors, and project stakeholders to ensure quality and consistency.


Qualifications


  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in water/wastewater engineering or construction-related roles.
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering is preferred; candidates with a Construction Engineering or Technician background or will be considered with relevant experience.
  • Experience as an Inspector, Resident Project Representative (RPR), or in other field-related roles on water or wastewater treatment projects preferred.
  • Experience with water/wastewater design is a plus.
  • Strong communication, organization, and teamwork skills.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.


Physical Requirements


  • Ability to travel to and maneuver around project sites for fieldwork and meetings.
  • Normal office conditions when completing design or documentation tasks.
  • Visual acuity and ability to use standard office and field equipment.
