Role Description: Our Dallas office is looking for a Staff Accountant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a can-do attitude, strong organizational and customer service skills, and a keen sense for detail. This position is a great opportunity for someone pursuing a career in accounting. The successful candidate will have a professional demeanor, proficient Microsoft Office suite skills and a year or more of previous experience in an architectural, engineering and/or construction management environment. Duties:

• Daily Cash Receipt Posting and Reporting.
• Expense Report Review.
• GL Account Reconciliations.
• New Vendor Registrations.
• Maintain Company Vehicles Information and Reporting.
• File Maintenance.
• Research and respond to internal and external client inquiries.
• Assist in ad hoc projects as assigned.

Key Responsibilities:

• Complete assignments on-time, within budget, and with highest level of quality.
• Understands, follows, and enforces Huitt-Zollars' business process.
• Productively collaborates with others and leads or encourages teams to achieve success and camaraderie amongst each other.
• Understands and follows HZ QMS and Quality initiatives. Ensures quality control measures are being adhered to on assignments and daily business/department operations.
• Understands duties and responsibilities, possesses necessary job knowledge and technical skills, maintains job knowledge.
• Routinely proposes and produces more effective ways to accomplish assignments.

Qualifications:

• Bachelors in Business, Finance or Accounting preferred.
• Minimum 2-3 year of previous experience.
• Ability to work independently or in a team environment.
• Excellent time management skills; must prioritize tasks and meet very specific deadlines.
• Strong people skills.
• Solid understanding of accounting processes.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office: Excel, Word, Outlook and Adobe.
• Experience with Deltek Vision or Vantagepoint a plus.
• Proven ability to complete detailed assignments accurately.
• Exhibits professional written and oral communication skills.
• A motivated self-starter, ambitious, dependable, and reliable.
• Ability to identify problems and provide solutions.

This position will office out of our Dallas, TX location in a 'Class A' office space including a state-of-the-art gym (no cost), covered parking, food court, and more.

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
• Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times
• May be required drive to visit client or project sites for short periods of time
• The employee must be able to concentrate on details, work under deadline pressures, apply sound logic and judgment, and prioritize tasks and responsibilities
