3 Med Surge is a 36-bed unit providing care for patients with both medical and surgical diagnosis. Population served is Adolescent to geriatric patients. 3 Med Surg will care for medical and surgical patients.

Performs care requiring substantial specialized knowledge, judgement and nursing skills based upon the principles of psychological, biological, physical and social sciences in the application of the nursing process. Utilizes high-level assessment skills to design and ensure multidisciplinary patient care to meet holistic needs, incorporating established practice guidelines and regulatory standards.

Description Registered Nurse:

RN-Med Surge-3-North-Full-Time

  • Assessment of patients' needs.
  • Development of patient care plan/s
  • Provision of direct care.
  • Management of patient care delivery.
  • Demonstrate leadership skills.
  • Support for quality care.
  • Customer relations and healing environment.
  • On call requirement weekends/holidays picked by rotation.
  • Operating Room Nurses provide care and support to patients before, during and after surgery.
  • Clinical decision-making incorporates all four phases of the nursing process, critical thinking and creativity.
  • Must possess ability to supervise and delegate appropriate work to Patient Care Techs, Licensed Practical Nurses, Unit Secretaries, and Students.

Requirements Registered Nurse:

  • Current RN licensure and work permit in Kentucky.
  • Bachelor's or an associate degree in nursing from an accredited college/university.
  • Applicants with an associate degree in nursing and less than 10 years of experience must enroll within 12 months of hire in a bachelor's degree program and must have achieved the degree within 5 years.
  • Basic Life Support.
  • Glucometer Training
  • ACLS/PALS/NRP and successful completion of dysrhythmia class as required by department of assignment.
