Lab QA Group Lead - AMP - Indianapolis, IN, Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM

Pay range: $21.57+ per hour

Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, certifications obtained. Market and organizational factors are also considered. Successful candidates may be eligible to receive annual performance bonus compensation.

The Lab QA Group Lead assists the department supervisor by performing combinations of the following activities: schedule coordination, workflow review, providing input to supervisor for performance review and disciplinary action. Further the Group Lead performs all the duties of a QA Lab Coordinator and is responsible for troubleshooting escalated quality assessments within Specimen Receiving, Data Entry and Grossing to ensure the department maintains high standards in quality and compliance.



Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership to department by being a functional resource and assists the manager with daily operations.
  • Review group output and address any escalated issues.
  • Review the timeliness of the functional group's response. Notify the functional group immediately if the turnaround time goals are impacted.
  • Assist with review of the root cause description and appropriateness of the functional group's corrective action. Notify the functional group if resolution is unclear, inadequate, and inappropriate or if documentation is required. Work with group to develop effective action plan. Monitor implementation.
  • May act as WFC Approval Editor or other payroll designee in manager's absence.
  • Present recent achievements, ongoing activities and business unit's performance to established goal(s) at monthly staff meetings as needed.
  • Provides training and guidance to staff including, but not limited to, safety, compliance and required competencies. Assists manager in cross-training staff.
  • Assist with developing training policies and procedures.
  • Work in concert with manager to develop, schedule and implement training sessions.
  • Manage other projects/responsibilities as assigned by manager.
  • Perform all duties of a Lab QA Coordinator.



Qualifications:

Required WorkExperience:



  • Minimum of 4 years of successful laboratory experience including responsibility for analyzing and resolving issues, quality assessment and compliance. Must possess medical background to include medical terminology applicable to a pathology lab and basic CPT coding knowledge.
