Silgan Closures is seeking an experienced Plant Manager to lead operations at our Richmond, Indiana, manufacturing facility. This position reports to the Director of Operations and provides leadership to all plant departments, including Production, Quality Assurance, Maintenance, Materials, Human Resources, and Finance. The Plant Manager is responsible for directing and coordinating all manufacturing, financial, and operational functions to achieve plant goals in Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, and People (SQDCP). This role requires strong leadership, business acumen, and a commitment to operational excellence. The Richmond plant manufactures metal closure systems for major food and beverage customers. What You'll Do as a Plant Manager:
  • Oversee all plant operations across production, maintenance, quality, materials, and HR to meet company goals for safety, quality, delivery, and cost.
  • Promote a zero-incident safety culture and ensure compliance with OSHA, food safety, and regulatory standards.
  • Develop and implement manufacturing strategies to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Establish and manage budgets, cost controls, and continuous improvement programs to achieve performance targets.
  • Drive a results-oriented culture by defining clear goals, monitoring performance, and developing high-performing teams.
  • Partner with Quality and Procurement to ensure production and purchased materials meet customer specifications.
  • Build collaboration and teamwork through open communication and effective leadership.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety and product quality systems.
  • Perform additional duties and projects as assigned by Operations leadership.
What You Bring:
  • An associate's degree or equivalent experience is required; a bachelor's degree is preferred.
  • Minimum of ten (10) years of progressive operations experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong business acumen and ability to manage P&L performance.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience with union contract administration and labor relations.
  • Demonstrated success leading cross-functional teams and driving measurable results.
