Job Description




As a Security Guard - Unarmed Education Patrol Driver in Chicago, IL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Education, and more. As a Patrol Unarmed Officer in an educational environment, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas to help maintain a secure setting for students, staff, and visitors. By conducting routine patrols and maintaining a visible presence, you help to deter security-related incidents and provide a reassuring atmosphere. This is a driving post, so you will be responsible for operating a vehicle as part of your patrol duties. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients, faculty, students, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures and location-specific policies.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established protocols.
  • Conduct regular and random foot patrols throughout academic buildings, residence halls, and surrounding campus grounds to help to deter unauthorized activities and identify potential issues.
  • Monitor access points and report any irregularities or suspicious behavior observed during patrols.
  • Assist with emergency response activities, including providing information and guidance to individuals in the event of an incident.
  • Document and report all security-related incidents and daily activities as required by Allied Universal policies and client guidelines.
  • Collaborate with campus staff and local authorities as needed to maintain a secure environment within the educational location.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Applicants must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Applicants must provide proof of a high school diploma or GED.
  • A valid driver's license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
