Job Description




As a Security Officer - Telecom Campus Patrol in Aurora, IL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Tech/Media/Telecom, and more. As a Patrol Unarmed Officer with Allied Universal, you will help to create a secure environment at a leading technology location through regular patrols and active presence across the property. Your responsibilities will include monitoring assigned areas, supporting access control measures, and providing clear communication with visitors and staff. You will play an important role in helping to deter security-related incidents and maintaining a welcoming atmosphere, all while embodying our values of reliability, teamwork, and integrity. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients by following security-related procedures, adhering to site-specific policies, and responding to emergency situations as appropriate.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations within the location in a calm, problem-solving manner.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the business environment and perimeter, including technology and telecommunications areas, in order to help to deter unauthorized activity.
  • Observe and report any unusual, suspicious, or unauthorized activity within the location.
  • Assist visitors and employees by providing directions and responding to inquiries related to site policies.
  • Work collaboratively with Allied Universal team members and on-site personnel to maintain an orderly environment.
  • Complete required documentation and incident reports accurately and promptly as related to security-related activities.
  • Remain alert to potential security-related issues and communicate concerns to the appropriate Allied Universal personnel.

Minimum Requirements:

  • At least 1 year of security-related experience is required.
  • Proof of a high school diploma or GED is required by the client.
  • You must be at least 21 years of age.
  • The ability to lift more than 20 lbs is preferred.
  • Experience with access control and/or badge systems is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
