HEICO is an Aerospace company that is looking for a talented summer Materials Lab Intern!! If you're a college student looking to gain valuable hands-on experience, knowledge, and ability to work on projects then we encourage you to apply. HEICO Internships are a 12 week program that combines on-the-job training with structured learning opportunities.

The Materials Lab Intern will assist in any number of materials preparation and evaluation of product to support engineering and quality activities for product acceptance. Additional activities involve special projects to gain practical knowledge and experience in the field.

This internship will take place starting Monday, May 17th, 2026 till Friday, August 7th, 2026.

Applications will be accepted until December 31st, 2025.

The format of this internship will be in person, full-time 40 hours per week. Monday- Friday during normal business hours.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • Familiarization with materials lab environment procedures and processes.
  • Accurately record observations and measurements and reports results.
  • Rely on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform functions of job.
  • Perform a variety of tasks such as: Section, mount, polish, and etch samples (which includes making up etchants).
  • Assist with inventory, receipt, inspection and stocking of materials and equipment when needed.
  • Assist with cleaning, disinfecting, and maintaining clean rooms and equipment.
  • Participate in special projects involving data collection, spec review and document control when needed.
  • Perform other duties, as assigned.

EDUCATION:



  • Must be currently enrolled in some college coursework in Chemistry, Mathematics, Materials Engineering or related field required.



EXPERIENCE:



  • Employment, school or personal experience involving a laboratory environment.



KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS OR ABILITIES:



  • Language: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Computer Skills: MS Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Powerpoint).
  • Mathematical Skills: Commensurate with College education.
  • Organizational Skills: Strong organizational skills, strict attention to details and ability to multitask and prioritize as necessary, with minimal supervisory direction. Must be flexible in handling multiple tasks.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Must be able to work in a team environment and independently.
