Job Description

A postdoctoral research scholar position is available in the Crop Physiology Lab in the Division of Plant Science and Technology at the University of Missouri (https://pst.missouri.edu/; https://ipg.missouri.edu/).

The postdoctoral scholar will join an interdisciplinary team plant adaptation to different environments. The incumbent will build on existing genetic resources and physiological data and will be leading experiments under controlled environment as well as field conditions. The successful candidate will lead the day-to-day activities associated with experiments investigating plant adaptation to environmental extremes and plant-microbe interactions. The postdoctoral scholar will be able to build on an abundance of physiological, genetic, and/or omics data and resources, and will have access to unique field and controlled environment facilities. The incumbent will be expected to design and execute experiments, analyze data, present results at professional meetings, and prepare manuscripts for publication in appropriate refereed journals. The incumbent will gain experience with collaborative research and will have opportunities to mentor undergraduate and graduate students that join the lab.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications: PhD in Plant Physiology, Botany, Genomics or related fields.

Candidates will be evaluated on: experience in plant physiology, omics analyses, molecular biology expertise and experience with plant-microbe interactions. Self-motivation, dedication, and experience in both independent research and collaboration in a multi-disciplinary team. Strong experimental design and written and oral communication skills.
