JUNIOR CIVIL ENGINEER, GRADE 3 The City of Worcester is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Junior Civil Engineer, Grade 3 for the Engineering Division within the Department of Public Works. Under the general direction of the Assistant Director of Engineering, the position is responsible for technical and entry-level civil engineering work related to the investigation, design, construction, and/or maintenance of engineering projects. The individual in this role will be responsible for ensuring private utility projects are successful and public infrastructure remains in functioning order. Daily responsibilities of this position include reviewing plans and permit applications for electric, gas, and data installations, conducting pre-construction site review, and performing oversight during construction. This position requires a high level of coordination with both internal stakeholders, such as Water Operations and Sewer Operations Divisions, as well as numerous external stakeholders, most notably the private energy and data suppliers in the City. The Junior Civil Engineer, Grade 3 will also be responsible for inspecting roadway and sidewalk restorations for conformance with City construction standards.
