Overview

As a General Accountant, you will be responsible for performing a variety of accounting tasks, ensuring the accurate processing of financial transactions, maintaining financial records, and supporting the overall financial health of the hotel.



Responsibilities

    Accounting & Financial Recordkeeping: Maintain accurate general ledger accounts and process daily journal entries for revenue, expenses, and operational activities. Reconcile financial accounts (bank, credit card, etc.) regularly and assist in month-end and year-end closings.
  • Accounts Payable & Receivable: Process timely payments to vendors, review invoices for accuracy, and manage the accounts receivable process to ensure prompt collections. Resolve discrepancies and assist in invoice reconciliation.
  • Financial Reporting & Analysis: Assist in the preparation of monthly financial reports, ensuring data accuracy. Support financial analysis, including variance reporting, and assist in compiling data for quarterly and annual reports.
  • Compliance & Internal Controls: Ensure compliance with accounting policies and financial regulations. Help maintain internal controls to prevent fraud and financial mismanagement and assist with audit preparations.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in Finance or Accounting, preferably in the hospitality industry.
  • Strong understanding of general accounting principles and practices.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required and a familiarity with M-3 Accounting Systems, Profit Sage Budget/Forecast, Dayforce, Lightspeed, and Micros is preferred.
  • Knowledge of Nashville Sales/Occupancy/Use tax reporting and local tax rules is preferred.
