About the Job

The UMD Psychology Department will be hiring a 25% (10 hours per week) Graduate Research Assistant to support research with Psychology Assistant Professor Dr. John Blanchar.

Summary:

Start date: January 5th 2026
End date: May 17, 2026.
Rate of pay: $27.95 per hour; Bi-weekly
Expected supervisor and/or supervisory unit: John Blanchar, UMD Psychology Department
Work location: UMD Psychology Department
Anticipated work schedule: Weekly meeting and in-person data collection to be scheduled at start of appointment

Duties/Responsibilities:

The graduate research assistant will support research planning (including literature reviews, IRB materials, stimulus development, and study setup), assist with participant recruitment and data collection for online and in-person studies, and manage data entry, coding, cleaning, and statistical analyses. Additional responsibilities include contributing to manuscripts and presentations; maintaining ethical and data-security standards (including CITI training); supporting general lab operations and coordinating undergraduate researchers and other lab personnel; handling project-related administrative tasks; and participating in regular meetings with the supervising faculty member.

Required/Preferred Qualifications:

  • UMN Graduate Student
  • In good academic standing with graduate program
  • Graduate background in experimental psychology
  • Training in psychology research methods and statistics
  • Research experience
Pay and Benefits

Pay Rate: $27.95 per hour
