Document Control Specialist III

Position Summary:


Gathers and maintains technical documentation.



Position Requirements:



  1. Supports engineering and production by researching, collecting, monitoring and maintaining bills of materials (BOM's), routings, change request, customer specific requirements, various engineering standards (STM, ISO, SAE), and other controlled documentation.
  2. Verifies accuracy of documentation and completeness of files, and resolves discrepancies.
  3. Ensures documents are retained and destroyed in accordance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
  4. Follows processes for document approval, distribution, modification, and destruction.
  5. May utilize an electronic document/record management system.
  6. Enters and maintains bills of material (BOM) routings in the ERP system.
  7. Develops and delivers training programs educating staff on document control processes in the organization.
  8. Ensures that training records are appropriately maintained and entered in the ERP system.
  9. Sets up parts in the ERP system and sets up software with multiple types of formatting as directed by that specific PCN.
  10. Participates in documentation projects.
  11. Writes and formats user documentation according to approved standards.
  12. Administers non-disclosure agreements and ensures they are appropriately maintained.
  13. Sets up part information including populating the proper fields in the ERP system correctly.
  14. When mandated, will need to be available to work overtime, be it daily extra hours or weekly with additional days added to the work week.
  15. Individuals directed by management to operate a vehicle for work purposes will observe the requirements of the Fleet Safety Program.
  16. Support, promote, and perform in a manner consistent with continuous improvement goals and the values of SSI Technologies, LLC. which includes following the policies, procedures, and requirements of our Quality Management and IS0 14001 Environmental Management Systems.
  17. All other duties as assigned by your supervisor.



Professional/Technical Experience, Skills and Education:



  1. Associate's degree, required.
  2. Proficient in Microsoft Office, required.
  3. Previous experience in supporting an engineering or technical department, preferred.
  4. Understanding of blue prints and how to read them, required.
  5. Six (6) years of experience to be considered required.
