Title: Aircraft Maintenance Technician

Pay Rate: $43/hr. on W2 without Benefits

Location: Edwards AFB, CA 93523

Duration: 12 months assignment with possible extension

Shift Schedule: 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM (Must have flexibility to work rotating shifts as needed)

Requested Security Clearance: Secret

Job Description:

  • The T-7 Aircraft Maintenance Technician will be responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting T-7 aircraft systems, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and technical data. The role includes, but is not limited to:
  • Maintain, inspect, and troubleshoot T-7 aircraft systems, including comm/nav and instrument systems, and mechanical/electrical components.
  • Utilize technical orders, schematics, and diagrams to diagnose faults and perform repairs at the component level.
  • Operate ground support equipment and perform maintenance on assigned aircraft.
  • Open/remove aircraft panels, excluding those requiring Command and Response, to perform maintenance and troubleshoot issues.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and tool control programs.
  • Complete necessary records manually and electronically per USAF and company policies.
  • Troubleshoot and repair aircraft systems, using manuals and technical data, in compliance with maintenance directives.
  • Provide on-the-job training to less experienced personnel and assist in mentoring junior technicians.
  • Participate in and follow up on inspections and scheduled maintenance tasks as outlined in the maintenance program.
  • Perform other duties as required.


Required Qualifications:

  • 5-7 years' experience in aircraft maintenance with a focus on troubleshooting and repair.
  • Experience leading and supervising others in aircraft maintenance tasks.
  • Flexibility to work rotating shifts as needed.
  • Experience troubleshooting aircraft malfunctions to the component level.
  • Knowledge of aviation regulatory requirements.
  • Understanding of quality management systems and adherence to established processes and procedures.
  • Familiarity with electronics, electrical schematics, and circuits.
  • Experience working on Development Programs or Flight Test Programs is preferred.
  • Experience with DoD systems, including AFTO 781 forms and IMDS, is desirable.
  • Experience building relationships with US government personnel is a plus.


Security Responsibilities:

  • Eligible to obtain a DoD Personnel Security Clearance.
  • Must comply with all company information systems security policies and procedures.


Physical Demands and Work Environment:

  • Must be able to lift and move up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work in confined spaces, elevated areas, and under equipment.
  • Capable of working with aircraft components in a shop floor environment, exposed to electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
  • Exposure to loud noises, airborne particles, and extreme heat may occur.
  • Must be able to perform both domestic and international travel as required.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working on Development Programs and Flight Test Programs.
  • Experience developing and fostering relationships with US government personnel.
  • Familiarity with DoD systems, including AFTO 781 forms and IMDS.
  • Experience in quality management systems and aviation regulatory compliance.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems, schematics, and troubleshooting techniques.


Education / Experience:

  • Education/experience typically acquired through basic education (e.g. High School diploma/GED) and typically 4 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. vocational school/Associate+2 years' related work, Bachelor, etc.).
