- High School or GED + 5 years' experience: $23.00/hour + every other Friday paid off
- Bachelor's Degree: $25.00/hour + every other Friday paid off
- Salary is based on education, experience, and licensure or certification

Your Role: Community Support Specialist
As a Community Support Specialist serving individuals in Macon County, you will provide community-based mental health services that help individuals build independence, enhance daily living skills, improve emotional wellness, and remain stable in their homes and communities. You will play a key role in helping clients reduce hospitalizations, increase natural supports, navigate systems, and achieve their personal recovery goals. This is a highly rewarding, relationship-based position for someone who enjoys being out in the community and making a meaningful impact every day.
Core Responsibilities
- Provide community-based skill-building and support services to adults with mental health or co-occurring needs.
- Assist clients in developing skills related to daily living, symptom management, problem-solving, socialization, and emotional regulation.
- Support clients in crisis prevention, early intervention, and consistent followup to maintain stability.
- Help individuals access community resources such as housing, benefits, education, employment, and medical care.
- Collaborate with behavioral health providers, primary care, community agencies, and natural supports to ensure coordinated services.
- Document services in accordance with agency and state requirements.
- Promote client independence, empowerment, dignity, and recovery.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Knowledge
- Basic understanding of mental health symptoms, recovery models, and trauma-informed care.
- Familiarity with local social service systems and community resources.
Skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for engaging a diverse population.
- Ability to develop trust, build rapport, and maintain professional boundaries.
- Effective organizational and timemanagement skills in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent + 5 years of supervised mental health or social service experience
- Bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, human services, or related field preferred
- Minimum of 21 years of age
- Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and proof of automobile insurance
